Victron Energy Storage Systems

4.8kWh – £3300

9.6kWh – £4300

Victron Energy are renown world wide for their extra low voltage energy storage solutions.  Unlike the more popular and cheaper Chinese brands, Victron are very profound in off-grid setups and similar, such as yachts and camper vans, and they completely excel in their quality and ongoing technical advancements.

Their online monitoring platform (VRM) is considered to be leading in it’s field and allows for full monitoring to include existing solar inverters, as well as consumption and battery parameters, all in real time.  The system can also be fully controlled remotely via the VRM, including easily setting up charging from the grid at off-peak periods.

FAQ's

Your questions answered

Are solar panels really worth the money?

First things first you will be generating your own electricity, and depending on the size of your system and whether you opt for battery storage, you could save up to 75% on your electricity bills.  You could also benefit from the SEG (Smart Export Guarantee) and actually get paid for your generated electricity.

With battery storage, there is also the benefit on being self-reliant in case of grid failures/black outs.

We would always recommend you do your own research, solar is a big investment and you should be sure that it is right for you. There is a vast amount of information out there about solar energy, you can use the internet, blogs and forums and other peoples experiences to make your decision. We will always go the extra mile to ensure that our designs fit your lifestyle and that we illustrate how a PV system would could benefit you.

Can I really get paid for electricity I generate?

Yes!

The Smart Export Guarantee (SEG) is a government backed initiative that was launched in January 2020 after the Feed-in-Tariff (FIT) scheme closed to new applicants in 2019.

SEG licensees determine the rate you are paid for your electricity you feed back to the grid, this is also depends on your tariff and the terms of that tariff. The only requirement is that the tariff must always be greater than zero, but these tariffs can be fixed or variable.

To be able to benefit from most SEG tariffs, you will need a MCS certificate to prove that your system is up to industry standards. MW Solar are MCS accredited and will issue you all relevant certification upon completion of works.

To find a list of energy companies that are SEG licensees, check the Ofgem list of suppliers.

How much money will a Solar PV system cost me?

The good news is that the price of solar panel installation is decreasing, the main reason for this being that the demand for solar panels is increasing year upon year.

The cost of your system and installation will vary person to person, as everybody has different requirements and lifestyles.

MW Solar understand that every installation is different and take pride in ensuring that the systems we design are unique to each clients requirements.

We have a range of products available to our customers, from extremely high end products made in The Netherlands, to the more common solar panels and products on the market.

With over a decade of experience with many different products, we can provide you un-biased advice for your system.

We are always happy to have a no-obligation chat.

Do I have to have battery storage?

No, you do not need to opt for battery storage, and you can always add this in at a later date. You may have a restricted budget or are just keen to experiment with your own needs first.

Installing battery storage with your Solar panels will let them charge up as a secondary load, giving you back up energy to use later on at night when the solar panels cannot power the home.

Battery storage gives you more control of your energy usage and can make you less dependent of the National Grid.

Are all homes suitable for solar?

The short answer is no, not every house/home will be suitable for solar.

Ideally you need to have a South, East, or West facing roof to get the maximum sunlight and get the most from you solar panels.

Generally you won’t need planning permission as solar panels are seen as ‘permitted development’, exceptions being a listed property or ground mounted arrays.

We will always offer our honest opinion when we quote a project and if it’s not worth it, we will tell you.

Will solar panels add value to my house?

According to a study conducted by Effective Home (who specialise in Solar Panels), it was found that sale prices for homes with solar systems rose by around 14%.

There are a number of reasons for this:

The literal value of the Solar Panel system

The aesthetic – Having solar panels is a talking point, it’s cool, it’s aware, it’s “doing something”, it’s keeping up with the Joneses or being the Joneses..

Electricity bill savings, or even the SEG rates.

If you can demonstrate before and after costs or electricity having had solar panels installed we have found this helps a lot.

How long will they last?

The industry standard for most solar panels’ lifespans is 25 to 30 years. Most reputable manufacturers offer production warranties for 25 years or more.
